Who is Joe Hunter?

For a start there are certain things he isn't.

He's not a cop. He's not a bounty hunter. He's not a private detective.

Some people call him a vigilante, but even Joe will tell you that vigilantes take the law into their own hands, where as there aren't too many laws that define what Joe does to get a job done.

Joe is someone who cares.
Simple as that.

He doesn't like bullies. He doesn't like men who hurt women or children.
Put into context that covers a whole bundle of bad guys the world over.

He is a tough guy with a heart.

Fourteen years service as a counterterrorism soldier moulded him into a human wrecking ball.
He can kill you as easily with his hands as he can with his favourite weapon; his trusty SIG Sauer.

Why a SIG and not any other gun? Simple.
It's what he trained with when learning the method of point shooting hat has made him a modern day gunslinger.
His weapons are specially modified so that there is no safety or sights - nothing extraneous - that slows the drawing and discharge of the weapon. It could be any other gun but Joe likes the SIG because it fits nicely in his hand.

In the military he gained a best friend. Jared 'Rink' Rington.
The burly half-Japanese/half-Scottish ex-Ranger is more than a brother to Joe.
He is also his sounding board and partner in the fight against those that Joe doesn't like (see above list).

Joe, despite now living in the USA, was raised in Manchester, England. His father died when he was a small boy.

His mother remarried and Joe got himself a little brother, John. He also married Diane, but their marriage was doomed to failure.
When Joe retired from the army, he didn't exactly slow down. Diane didn't want to be the one to bury Joe, so they parted.
Although Diane remarried, Joe still loves her and deep down Diane still loves him.
He has left his two German Shepherds, Hector and Paris, in her capable hands so he has an excuse to go back and see her occasionally.

So there you are. A potted history of Joe Hunter.

Joe first appeared in Dead Men's Dust - a book that saw him hunting for his estranged brother, John, who had been kidnapped by the vicious murderer, Tubal Cain.

In his next outing, Judgement and Wrath, Joe has to protect a girl from a professional hit man who goes by the name of a fallen angel, Dantalion.

Book three, Slash and Burn, has Joe and Kate searching to find her missing sister and coming up against two monstrous killers known as the Bolan twins and their boss, the former assassin known as 'Quicksilver'.

Book Four, Cut and Run, has Joe is up against a doppleganger, Luke Rickard, who has framed him for murder and leads him into a cat and mouse chase where the violence of his past maskes a return visit.

Book Five, Blood and Ashes, has Joe protecting a family from a band of White Supremacists hell bent on bringing down the American government and prepered to do anything to achieve thier end game.

Book six is Dead Men's Harvest, and Joe is once more pitched into battle with an old adversary who has a bone to pick...

Such a boring life Joe leads after the excitement of hunting terrorists, huh?
